Current condition

The "Filling Laboratory" is a test room for filling tests on the premises of BEUMER's main site in the city of Beckum in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located in a section of the production hall of the "Research and Development" department. The room was set up in 2015 as a test and demonstration room for customer-specific filling tests. It contains three filling modules, each equipped with one of the three different filling turbines. In order to determine the optimum filling process, the bulk material provided by the potential customer is to be filled in several test series and then checked. The actual test series of filling tests in the "Filling Laboratory" is usually preceded either by the replacement of an existing plant or the purchase of a new plant.

Task

The task assigned to us comprises a complete redesign of the previous filling laboratory for filling tests with regard to ergonomics, cleanliness, safety and automation. Special attention will be paid to an automated feed and return of the material and a constructive redesign of the silo. At the same time, the room is to serve as a kind of demonstration room for potential customers. A clear, clean room layout is just as necessary as a reliable function and construction of the components used.
